I want to connect a cable modem to a hub and then have a couple of laptops connected wirelessly via PCMCIA cards to that. The only XP kit I can see for that is a D-Link one.

I'm surprised that this seems to be so rare when wireless networking is all over the press.

Has anyone tried this or any other kit?

    Thanks

Matter of preference here but I'd suggest you try Linksys. Easy to setup and works quite well. The older laptop cards didn't have great distance, however, the latest or newest model is greatly improved. You can also get a Wireless Router with an additional 4 wired ports or a Wireless Access Point if you already have a router. Check out their website.

Beyond that, you have several more options re: mfgs. You may want to do a little more homework so you are comfortable with your decision when you do take the plunge.

    ;)
