Why does Windows randomly decide to change my settings?

Last Monday, my computer was fine. My music folder was organized alphabetically by artist, A-Z. My pictures were organized alphabetically. Same for my videos. Music files are set to "View -> List "; pictures and videos "View -> Thumbnails ". I go to work, and I'm away from the computer until tonight.

I turn on the computer, and the folders are rearranged. My Music has been organized Z-A, and in "Thumbnail" view. My pictures/videos were set to "View -> Details ".

My computer isn't shared, no one else in the house uses it, and this has happened before, a while ago.

Is there any reason as to why Windows decides to alter folder settings, or revert them to a previous setting? I already changed the default "remember folder value" using TweakUI to about 6,000 from the default 800 or 2000 or whatever SP2 sets it at.

I ran chkdsk on both drives with the \f option, rebooted, and it detected no problems or errors on either drive.

And as far as I can tell, my registry appears fine. Maybe when I installed a widget or a program or game it caused some folders to alter settings.
