I had something typed onto a letter template that I have not used previously with my computer.

I opened it on my computer and the company logos (2 of them) and a solid line that goes down the left margin were all messed up.

It was typed on Word 2000. As long as I don't save it, they stay in the right place when opened in word 2000, but as soon as I open in my 97 version, they all move to the extreme top and left.

I searched all over the web, and can't find a solution, as it won't let me move the line back. The logos I can move fine, but the line is weird. The template is set up like a giant table, and the line separates data in a column on the left from the text of the letter. When I move the line, it jumps out of the table.

    Save As

As far as I know, Word is not upwardly compatible, eg 97 will not open 2002

Try opening it in 2000 and save it as a 97 or below file. As it is a template You may have to save it as a doc file. Then open it in 97 if it works save it as a template, ie dot file
