Workion as I.T. Support for a company i have encountered the problem on the computers with multiable users leaving the Caps-Lock key on after logging out of the computer which leaves the next user to "misstype" thier password the first time.

With the majority of users in the company having only very basic knowledge of computers I've Trying to find a way to disable the Caps-lock key on the windows login screen only.

All the reg-edits i have found on the internet sofar have only directed me to disable the Caps-Lock key completly. Doing this would couse more of a problem with the users.

If anyone has a solution for this i would be most gratefull.

    Yeah....

Number One: Advise users to turn off caps lock key as part of the logout process.

Number Two: Advise user to restart the PC rather than logout, that way the caps lock key is reset.

Number Three: Make sure users are aware that passwords are CASE SENSITIVE and they should check to see if the caps lock key is on first.

All is either a procedure issue or just user education..you shouldn't need to modify the OS in this case because some users can't turn off the caps lock key..

I am sure there is an option in BIOS. He said that the issue is users logout leaving the caps lock key on...
    I found this is google
http://groups.google.com.au/groups?hl=en&sa=N&resnum=0&q=turn off caps lock key batch&spell=1&tab=wg

Might a good read for the OP

rdawes--The bad news is that my BIOS only has a setting for NumLock, not CapsLock. (That does not mean your BIOS is the same.)
Possibly good news is this reference
    http://www.tech-recipes.com/windows_tips283.html
It suggests entering a 0 will turn all locks off at boot.
