Win XP Backups

    After using 'ntbackup', I find I can't open the file/folder unless I assign a 'program' to open it with.... what program should I assign ? Tx:confused:

    Use the Recover option in Backup to view the contents of a backup - for more info look under Restore in the Backup help file.

    Tx for the quick reply.... your suggestion worked, however, the Desktop Icon of the backed up files won't open unless I assign some 'program' ?! Also, how do I save what I backed up to a 'removable' disk? Tx...

    Hello jammer,

    From the Start menu click on Help and Support and type burn into the search box. You'll see Copy Files and folders to a CD and How to add more files to a CD. Clicking on them displays instructions to burn files to a CD or adding more files to an existing RW (re-writable) type CD.

    Backup files - .bkf will only open as I described.
