No Icons

    My sons computer, which seems to have plenty of problems lately :( seems to have lost all desktop icons and the tool bars is gone. However he can run programs by ctrl-alt-del and clicking on new task and browsing through my documents and such. This is in both safe and regular mode.
    This occured after running system restore attempting to fix a previous problem, the other problem seems to be fixed.

    I wondered tho, because my computer goes to a blue screen that says set-up, then it loads the files, then it asks to delete files only, not to repair themm, and theres no liscense agreement or anything, did I do this wrong, or what?

    Are you attempting a Repair of XP? The onscreen instructions after booting from the CD are very confusing - there are two Repair options. The first takes you to the Recovery Console which is where I suspect you ended up and the second to the Repair an installation - basically by reinstalling 'over the top. See this MS article ....
