Hi, I have a job a Friend running 98 SE that is a bit slow and corrupted P4 1.7 GHz 80Gig HDD but only 7 Gig used so 70 Gig free all on one partition C:. I was wondering if I could create a new partition and install Windows 2000 Pro into it on FAT 32 so he can access all his files and programs from the original partition. I only have Service pack 3 for 2000 is 4 important what has it over 3 .
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

You can dual boot 98 and win2k together....But, you'd have to spend $75.00 for a program like Partition Magic to create a new partition...

Hi thanks for the reply, I have been reading the other post here where it states that Win 2000 can only Format 32 Gig in Fat 32 that would be no good and I don't like dual boot I had it for a while and had far too many hassles I would not put that onto someone else.
I think I will sugest to him to go Win XP still create a new partition I have Acronis partition Expert, but not quite sure if I then should setup Win XP in Fat 32 or NTFS and convert the old 98 partition to NTFS I have done this before with no trouble, but I am not sure if it is a realy good idea how safe is it.
