I managed to corrupt my original OS installation and used the recovery disk to obtain a good installation. I did not reformat the hard disc and wound up with two versions of the OS on disk, one good and one bad. I would like to minimise the disk space taken up by files used by the corrupted version. Is there any way of deleting the corrupted version or at least eliminating those files unique to the corrupted version. I have already transferred my personal data files and removed them from the corrupt system

    Do you have a C:\Windows and maybe a C:\Windows001???

The older one can "probably" be deleted but you need to get more opinions...

    Thanks for your reply Steve. Yes, I have a C:\Windows and a C:\ Windows0.
I will search the MS Support Knowledge Base(KB) as you suggest.
