task bar hide arrow??

hy,im running win xp pro.just installed.clicked on the task bar and selected properties.both show clock and hide inactive are selected.but the little arrow hiding the icons is not there.the clock is.ive checked ,unchecked,rechecked,applyed ect.my problem is my hide arrow doesnt show up at all.ive updated all win. updates.its not a big deal but when i first installed win xp pro it worked with the arrow and after reinstalling and FORMATTING C DRIVE,still doesnt work.Thanks up front for any help.i cant reinstall xp again,im told,without calling microsoft to reactivate it.

Give it a day or so - It will showup all of a sudden.

 

The arrow does not show up right away. Give it some time...it takes my PC a few minutes before showing up and hiding my inactive icons.

You can also click on the "Customize" button and use the 3 options on how you want these icons to be viewed...

1) Always show
2) Always hide
3) Hide when inactive
