Due to changes I have made on one of my Laptops, the size of the process initiated dialog boxes on my system has inadvertently increased considerably e.g. the initial windows logon dialog box i.e. user name and password; the dial-up networking front-end process dialog box i.e. ISProvider and password; the Norton Disk Doctor process dialog box Windows; the Confirm Delete process dialog box. This has occurred to all the process initiated dialog boxes on the Laptop affected. I run the same operating sytem on an identical Laptop. The process screens and dialog boxes on this are as they should be.
The changes which I made should not have caused this change. Though I am a first-rate computer professional I have not as yet worked out how to change this back. I have looked closely at the internals of both laptops and cannot find the difference. I would appreciate the assistance of this forum and its' technical advisors with a first rate understanding of Windows 95, in resolving this problem.
This is as at 18.6.2006 and is semi-urgent.

Is there any evidence of the DESKTOP AREA setting having been changed? (i.e., larger than usual icons)

Thankyou for your interest and responding. No. The problem is not affected by changing any of the parameters in the Display + Appearance dialog. The problem occurred after I was clearing out and organising an IBM Thinkpad 310ED LapTop. It seems to have occurred after I relocated the Windows fonts from the Main H: Drive to a compressed E: Drive. This was done for space reasons. This led to display problems until I fully re-installed them. All the process dialog boxes are significantly larger - both in length and in height. I suspect there is an internal setting somewhere, or a missing file, which will define the enlargement parameters for these objects N.B. Each Process Dialog box represents a program. There are 3d buttons e.g to Start or Stop the process, and other selection/process options including parameters - such as dial-up networking parameters - associated with the process dialog boxes. It is only the Process Dialog boxes which have been affected. N.B.B. The Desktop Area has not changed. The Display Properties + Settings + Desktop Area Setting is 800 x 600 Pixels and
Display Properties + Settings + Screen Area Setting is 800 x 600 Pixels.
This is as it should be. These are the same settings as my other IBM Thinkpad 310ED Laptop. This other Laptop does not have the Problem with enlarged Process Dialog boxes.

    Thankyou.

Try putting it in SAFE MODE for one cycle, then shut down and restart normally. Any difference?
