Somewhere along the line, I told XP to make copies of my files automatically, so I have 2 of everything.
Does anyone have any idea how I did that? And how I can undo that?

I've never seen an auto copy fuction. What kind of files are being copied and what is the name(s) of the folders they are in?

They're MS Word documents, Steve. Every time I save a document, it makes a copy and calls it "Back up of . . . "

    That narrowed problem down.
    Try this:

    Open up Word.
Go to Tools - Options - Save Tab.
Uncheck - Always create backup copy.
    :)
