I have Windows 98 second edition and today when I turned my computer, my desktop icons were different. One was even missing. And the icons are huge. When I logged onto the internet, everything, font, icons, etc...are absolutely huge. I went to settings, tried to change them, the hourglass comes up and it stays there. When I do control/alt/delete it says control panel not responding. Duh??? Anybody experienced this?

Hi harligrl. first off all check your computer for viruses and spyware.
Are you sure your video driver is right?

I've checked for virus and spyware, no viruses found, I deleted the spyware. Now when you asked am I sure the video driver is right, what do you mean?

I suggest you run System File Checker to check if any files have been corrupted. The message you receive on Ctrl+Alt+Del does not at first sight appear to be a problem with your video (graphics) software.

Ran the system file checker...nothing. So, while I was there I thought, I haven't done a defrag in a while, I'll do that. Guess what? Problem solved! I would have never thought that would fix my problem so thank you for suggesting the system file checker.
