Installed Pro months ago, sometimes I could not access either CD drive, now I can never access either drive.
I can auto detect OK, BIOS says they are there ?
Tried to re-install Pro from the 4 disks, but of course could not access the CD

Disconnect drive cable, run auto detect, no drive. coll bananas.

Re-connect cable, auto detect, finds drive(s) OK, crank up Pro,
try and read CD, Windows says , no CD in drive.

    anyone have any ideas ?

    regards, Cameron.

As a reality check, if you boot with a 9x floppy that has the CD Load entries for your system, can you see them/use them?

    Hi Newt,

I could not see the drives when booting from diskette, I replaced one drive and disconnected the other drive and I could see the CD on the new drive ? I suspect that the 2nd connector on the cable is dud ????

So I now have just one drive working OK, connected to the last connector. I am going to replace the cable and see if that solves this problem.

Anyway, thanks for your help, Cameron.
