I am unable to access one computer (to share a printer and its files) on my home workgroup of 6 computers. All the other computers on the network see each other and share normally. When I attempt to connect to the problem computer from any other computer, I get the:

"Computer is not accessable. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The specified network name is no longer available" error message.

I am able to ping the computer by ip address, or by name. The computer has file and printer sharing enabled, and activating the guest account makes no difference. The computer is running Windows XPpro. I have tried disabling the firewall. I am using Windows Defender, but not zonealarm or any other firewall. I am using Norton Antivirus2005 (stand alone virus, not the suite).
I am able to run network games from the computer as the server. I just can't get to the shared folders or the shared printer from anywhere else on the network.

    addendum

after posting, I saw a new error message I haven't seen before when attempting to connect to the problem computer:
"The server [computer name] does not accept remote requests. "

    Try this:

Turn off File & Printer sharing. Reboot. Run File & Priner sharing wizard again. Hopefully your problem should be solved.
