How do i get rid of network cable unplugged icon in the taskbar

    hello
    can anyone tell me how to get rid of the network icon in the taskbar. It refuses to leave when ever i disconnect from a network. its alright when im connected but i when i disconnect from it, the icon gets a red cross against it and says the network cable is unplugged
    any suggestions? and no i dont want to disable the network card

    Wiz, here you go, Do you hate that "Local Area Connection A network cable is unpluged" or MSN-Messenger icon in your System Tray and want to get rid of that ?

    Right Click on "Start" Menu
    Click "Properties" Tab
    Click "Taskbar" Tab
    Click "Hide inactive icons" if not Checked
    Click on "Customize" Button
    Click the Notification item you want to change under Current Items
    Select "Always Hide" behaviour under the Behavior column

    Click "Ok" and then click "Apply ".
