I've been using Outlook 2000 for several years, under XP Pro.

It has just started hanging on launch. The folder list appears, and then it hangs.
I've un/re-installed outlook, and also tried removing all existing /outlook folders
within /Applicationdata , but on reinstallation it still hangs.
Any suggestions as to what to look at would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Benedict

Do any of your other office programs hang?

After you reinstalled it did you use the same profile or PST file? Might be corrupted..I have had to create a new profile once as it gets to that stage where it is opening the PST then hangs...

    corrupt .pst?

Thanks for suggestion. Yes - I did use same .pst file - at least I wasn't offered a chance to change it before the hang. I will try just renaming the .pst file.

Renaming the PST wouldn't change anything..if it is corrupted it will still be after you change the name.. just create a new outlook profile, setup your email accounts etc. Then see if it still hangs.
