Boot up to black screen

    When I boot up I get a black screen. The monitor displays check cable error. I have changed cable..changed video card. I have check both on another system both work.
    Windows XP SP2
    ATI All in Wonder video card AGP
    Since I can't get any thing but a black screen I have no idea where to begin.

    Do the front lights remain lit when this happens? Does the SMPS fan at the back of the cabinet works?
