I'm considering backing up my system, & would like to properly 'partition' my data as a first step.... any advice on the 'best' way to accomplish both tasks? (Have never tried this before).... Tx...

    Hi jammer.

There is no right or wrong way of partitioning the hard disk.

I usually make minimum of 2 partitions - one for OS & other for data.

If I have 2 physical separate hard disks, then my OS goes onto the 1st partition of the 1st hard disk, the data goes into the second partition of the 2nd hard disk, 2nd partition of 1st hard disk is used for backup and 1st partition of 2nd hard disk is used for temp files, including pagefile.
