I have TB 1.0.2, and as you can see I haven't updated in quite some time. When updating, I assume I am to uninstall the old version and download the new. If so, will my current e-mail, etc., still be there?

Another brilliant question from someone still in computer limbo!

Ramona may advise otherwise but I'll simply say that I never uninstall and then install the newest version. I just click on Check for Updates and if there is one I let it do its thing. Simple as that. No loss of email... settings...extensions (in fact, it will check your extensions to ensure they are compatible).

It did it, exactly, the way James did, and, with one exception all but one extention were compatible. Mr Tech Local Install took care of the only incompatibility (Quick Reply).

    Jeane,

I would uninstall 1.0.2 before installing 1.5.0.4. The reason being, that the new files may not be incompatible with the older ones. I always do a clean install, but many user do not. Just my compulsive behavior! :D

You will not lose anything, as the un/install has no effect on the Profile. As a precaution, if you are nervous about losing anything, you can back up the Profiles folder before uninstalling.

    Jeane,

The only "brilliant" question is the one not asked. I agree with Ramona. Back up your profile, uninstall your current version, then install the new version. I usually throw in a scandisk and defrag before installing the new. All your information will be there when you start up the program again.
