    WinXP Home, SP2.

Trying to figure out why XP will not shutdown. I have to power it down to
    get it to close.

Only thing different I can see a new file in the startup config named:
PD0630 STISvc. Have no idea what it is or what it does but its the only
change to the config i see different.

A search for PD0630 STISvc found nothing definate.

    Anyone?
    thanks,
    savagcl

Yes, I just got it a couple days ago.

The only thing i installed was the drivers and "SightSpeed ". Sightspeed
    has been uninstalled.

The camera is a Creative WebCam Live. Its a USB2 model.

    thanks,

If the program is not releasing itself from memory on shutdown try installing User Profile Hive Cleanup Service. This worked for me when Panda anti-virus's protection still ran at shutdown.

The PD0630 STISvc was a scheduler service for Perfect Disk. PD wont
    run without it being enabled.

I'm pretty sure that the shutdown problem has something to do with the
    cam.......

    thanks,

I pulled down the User Profile Hive Cleanup Service and got it installed.

Xp did shutdown. I'll watch it for a couple days.

    Thanks,
    savagcl
