Apparently, some minor changes were made to some files in DirectX V9.0c

I say "apparently" since i got this info from another site.
On downloading/installing it tho, i did find a problem with 1 program and had to reload it. The program was dBPowerAmp, a sound conversion
program. Since the re-install, no more problems (yet?).

Does anyone know if DirectX was updated for sure?

    thanks,
    savagcl

    Hi clif,

Start > run > enter dxdiag > ok

General tab > System Information: last line will tell you the version.

    I have V9.0c - haven't run into any problems.

    Regards - Charles

PeteC--That link you provide is for "DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer" . Is that a newer version of DirectX, itself, than 9.0c? Or is this something else?
I hate to say it, but the MS page is slightly less clear than mud on that.

savagcl--You say you installed DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer. When you run DirectX (dxdiag.exe) what version of DirectX is indicated?
I have not installed DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer.
    When I run dxdiag, I am told I have DirectX Version 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) .

    Jim

I quote from that page ....
I have not run it. Running dxdiag shows the same version of 9c as youre - the files are dated 04/08/2004 with one exception which is dated 09/04/2006 and a couple in 2005. This suggests that I have the latest version.

    What do you see, Jim/Clif?

I updated Directx 9c via the web and noted a number of updates dated this year during the download - my file list shows a fair number dated today at the time of installation.

    Conclusion ....

There have been some minor updates, but the version remains the same.
