Turning off extra services may or may not improve the performance but they sure reduce the attack envelope. Since issues are being found everyday, it makes sense to disable all the servces which you don't require or at least switch them to manual so that they are run when required.

Good point Rsinfo , Microsoft should of set some of these services to disable ( the ones that are on auto ), rather having them on auto , It would make more sense to turning them on disable then on auto , If anyone every needed some of these services to be active ? It would make more sense to turning them on auto from being on disable

TerryFox--Unless you know exactly what you are doing when you disable Windows Services, I suggest leaving them alone. There are too many dependencies--one service on another. And the descriptions are not very complete or helpful.
The ElderGeek used to advocate changing the defaults, but now he has changed his mind
    http://www.theeldergeek.com/services_guide.htm
This reference may help you change things back to default.
The amount of resources you save by disabling most Services is negligible.

Hey WelshJim ... You know theeldergeek should change their opinion on it because I once did follow their chart and was having some problems afterward , Though I am glad I have True Image 9 program which has save me many headaches , Now I just disable the remote stuff/wireless and the error reporting one , In total about 4 of them from auto to disable, that it , Seem to be working ok for now , Thanks
