    Hi all,

My hard drive had recently crashed, therefore a new drive was put into my computer, and now I am doing a fresh install of windows ME. The installation of all the gateway material went like a breeze from the three recovery discs.

The inputs to my mothercard are all full of cd and DVD burners and sound card devices, hence a IDE card is connected, which is then plugged through to my Zip 100 Drive. My internal ZIP 100 drive doesn't show up with "My Computer ", because I have to install an IDE Card driver first to get access.

My IDE card is a Skymaster ATA 133 IDE Card. I do have two installation discs,

The original setup CD has a pleather of setup drivers, hence the service man making a setup floppy for me, with the folloowing files, specific to my system config.

Being visioned impaired, I use a computer service person to fix any hard-ware stuff, but I'm okay with doing all the windows stuff, as long as it has a setup wizzard or I can get access to it through the device Manager.

    Actions taken so far:

a: I tried installing the drivers through device manager, but the computer continues to search for drivers and finds no drivers, both on floppy and CD ROM.

b: I read the information inside both the release notes (which boasts about device functionality), and README.TXT, (which simply discusses installation of the device for bootting the computer) Nothing on how to install driver!

c: Looked for IDE description in device manager list, to specify to computer, what kind of peripheral I want to install, but IDE cards were not listed.

d: tried looking for Skymaster website on internet to download latest driver, preferrably one with a wizzard interface, but no site found, and there was one site that had the same files as I already had on the floppy disk.

As I simply just want to install the driver to get access to my zip 100 drive, I don't know what to do. I know the drivers on the floppy work (files listed above), as I saw the service person install them in the shop, but I don't know how to install them as there is no wizzard.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Mark

Some shattered bones and my sanity slightly frayed, but the problem is solved. Just had to go into device manager, select "PCI Storage Devices ", and then let windows find the driver, in which it did< AT LAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone who has sat at a computer for ten hours, trying to fix one little bugger of a problem knows exactly how I feel, and to finally have it fixed. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
