Excel software problem

I have just tried the Windows update package 3 - I now cannot open excel - when I click on excel I am asked to insert my xp professional cd-rom - word and outlook and everything else opens OK

Does anybody have any idea what the problem or cure might be

Put your office cd in and do a repair on it..

 

I'm guessing you mean service pack 3 (sp3) for OfficeXP. If you don't have the OfficeXP disk you can download the "Full file " HERE. It's rather large (57.5 mb) but it will install the service pack without asking for your OfficeXP CD.
