i use outlook for my e-mail and i've noticed something strange happening lately... for like the past week almost every e-mail i recieve has something like {spam?} or {definitely spam?} or {disarmed} in front of the subject. this is really irritating because most of it isn't spam, and i delete some e-mails by accident. i don't think this is an outlook setting... could be it a windows firewall thing?

I would check with your ISP. Sounds like their filtering process is showing it as spam.
I had a problem one time where a lot of the e-mails sent to me were being kicked back to the senders from my ISP.
