Some programs won't run, some won't install [HighjackThis Log]

Dear Friends on the Board,
I got hit by a virus after stupidly opening up an email I thought I recognized. It's a fairly new DELL system now ruined by this thing and I couldn't tell you what it is. I have perused a few very informative boards and run a lot of stuff - some things fixed. Here is a rundown of current casualties:
Powerpoint won't open
Excel only opens in /safe mode
Word seems to run fine!
Helpful little recommended programs like Ewido and VindoFix will download but will not install.
Windows Firewall "Due to an unidentified problem, cannot display Windows Firewall Settings "
(After running a recommended fix on one of the forums, the Firewall came back to life, but has since started
displaying the error again)
For a while Task Manager was not opening, but after running Kelly's fix, it now works fine.
I tooled around in the Group Policy settings for firewall, made a couple changes that did not help.
At one point, I ran a Repair (without the Recovery Console) with my
DELL Reinstallation CD. That did not totally cure the problem.
I have run Panda, trendmicro, and although Ewido would not install, I ran the version from the web and it cleaned out a bunch of stuff, including a backdoor virus - at least it said it was a backdoor virus.
Now I can never find my way back to where I made those changes to unchange them.
Guestolo suggested to another user to download and install latest HiJack This to its own folder on the HDD
and I did that, too. Here is the log.

I have a feeling that the winm32.dll thing is bad, but perhaps one of you could take a look at this
and help me out. Working on a big PowerPoint presentation.

Hello Philip,

I've moved your thread to the Virus/Spyware removal section.

An additional tool:

Download Ewido http://www.ewido.net/en/

Install as a scanner only: under "Additional Options ", uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu ".

Before using it, update it. Post anything it finds here, may need more than one post for it.

Scan in safe mode: tap the F8 key on bootup.

Then re scan with HJT and post it.

Ewido won't install

Charles,
As much as I would love to install Ewido, it will not install. You click on the installation exe and the .exe just dies after a couple of seconds. The same thing happens with VundoFix.exe. However, HiJack this installed okay, as did Spybot Search and Destroy.
Two things were knocked out that are now back. Task Manager and Regedit.
But I cannot run PowerPoint, Excel or Skype.

You guys have been just super and I have learned a ton about safety and recovery. Keep it up. Sorry to be late getting back to you, but work hours intervened. The computer is back to normal completely just now in terms of the symptoms I posted.
