Can't remove Trojan.Galapoper.A

    I've tried removing it using the steps from Symantec, but it keeps popping back up. Here is my scan from HJT:

    0. restart comp in Safe Mode w/out Networking (press F8 key during restart)

    1.a. disable System Restore:
    right click My Computer icon on Desktop & select Properties
    click System Restore Tab
    check - Turn off System Restore (on all drives if it says Turn off on all drives)

    1.b. Stop System Restore service:
    go to Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services &
    stop System Restore Service

    2. go to Control Panel/Folder Options/View Tab &
    check - Display the contents of system folders
    check - Show hidden files & folders
    uncheck - Hide protected operating system files

    3. go to C:/Documents & Settings/Your_User_Name/Local Settings/Temp &
    delete ALL folders & files in Temp directory

    4. go to C:/Documents & Settings/Your_User_Name/Local Settings/Temporary Internet Files &
    delete ALL files there

    5. run HijackThis & put a check next to the following items & press the Fix button:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {77701e16-9bfe-4b63-a5b4-7bd156758a37} - (no file)
    O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file)

    6. rescan comp with your antivirus program

    Hijackthis is not a maintenance tool, it is an analytical tool and not for beginners to mess with.
