    Hi all,
I have a perplexing situation I'm hoping you might be able to help sort out.

We're using Outlook 2003 on a WinXP box, and suddenly weird behavior has cropped up when receiving e-mail receipts from an airline ticketing division. The mail arrives fine and displays in the preview pane, but if we click on it to open and print, the attachment paperclip disappears and the body of the message is gone. Outlook doesn't give the standard "Outlook blocked access to potentially dangerous content (or whatever)" message, the attachment/body of the email is just gone. To top it off, even though we have received plenty of these emails in the past with no problem, if we try to go back and view a mail that has been previously received and displayed with no hiccups, it deletes the attachment/body of those mails too. Needless to say, it is pretty frustrating.

I have searched this forum and googled all around the world and have found no information about this exact issue, or one that even points me in the right direction. Are there any gurus out there who can provide suggestions? Any ideas would be warmly received.

    Thanks,
    David Williams

Steve, thanks. You're smart. Me? Not so much.

I read your solution, ran through the settings on my machine, got really excited, and hurried off to adjust the settings on the afflicted PC. When I clicked on Tools, I finally figured out that this is the only machine in the office with Outlook 2002, not 2003 as I had stated in my question. So the settings you described were not available, nor could I find any comparable ones in 2002.

Does anyone know how to proceed given that we're talking about Outlook 2002?

Again, thanks Steve, for your help.
    David

"Outlook Virus Enhancements: Outlook now helps you and organizations safeguard against malicious viruses by blocking e-mail attachments that are associated with unsafe files. Outlook also prevents programs from gaining programmatic access to your address book or from send e-mail messages on the your behalf. You are notified and given the option of continuing or halting the action. This prevents propagation and the spreading or e-mail viruses to others. Additionally, Outlook gives administrators options to customize these settings to meet organizational needs."
