When I log onto my laptop a windows installer screen pops up stating it's configuring wordperfect office 12, when it can't find the program it tells me to insert the disc that came with the software. I have no software for this program because I am not trying to install it. Any suggestions on how to make it stop?
thanks, celice

You don't have the Word Perfect cd?

Did you recently create a new Windows User Profile?

Hi Steve,
Thanks for replying.
No I don't have a word perfect cd and mine is the only user profile on this laptop.
Any ideas?

Hello Charles,
Thank you for replying. I did as you suggested and it worked to an extent. Windows installer is not trying to install wordperfect anymore, however it is now trying to install Sonic Update Manager. I don't have a disc for this either. I'm not even sure what it is. Something to do with music cd's or movie dvd's. Should I use the cleanup tool again?
Thanks again,
Celice

Hi Celice,

Yes and post back.

I just had this happen to me - with applications. What I did was uninstall Symantec's NAV2005, a major epic in and of itself

In my case, this happened when a major change took place in the System. There were two programs that did this, at that point it stopped. You may run into this some more as you use programs.

Regards - Charles
