Lexmark X5270 installation run time error

Hello,

I am having a problem with my Lexmark x5270 All-In-One printer/scanner.

When I click my All-In-One icon I get the following error message:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime error!
Program C:\Program Files\Lexmark 5200 Series\lxbtaiox.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application "s support team for more information.

I am able to run the printer and scanner on a stand alone basis and I am able to use the printer through the computer but not the scanner.

I have run Ad-Aware and Spybot as well Norton Anti-Virus and did a registry scan with Advanced System Optimizer. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the Lexmark Program several times with no luck. Even Lexmark itself has given up on me by telling me the issue appears to be with my operating system rather than the printer. I have seen other similar problems at this site and they ask for a HijackThis log which I am attaching.

I have been on computers for 10 years, got out of a lot of other jams, but this problem has me stumpted.

Can someone help me?

Have you tried uninstalling the software? A runtime error would suggest a software problem to me.

When you reinstall, try installing only the drivers and basic programs that you need. Ones that add "extra benefits" may be causing the problem.

Would any old printers or scanners still be installed. Look at uninstalling/removing those.

Lexmark X5270 Installation Runtime Error

Gooday Mate!

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have tried every possible combination of uninstallatons and reinstallations with no cure.

Lexmark email help has given up too and I am now awaiting a callback from Lexmark hotline since I seemed to have stumped the online helper I spoke with.

I have heard about a fix thats done by removing every trace of Lexmark from the registry, unintalling the program and using search engine to find any remaining traces,
then finally doing a installation.

Got it fixed!

Problem is solved, opened regedit and deleted all Folders containing "Lexmark "
uninstalled and reinstallled the Lexmark X5270 disc and everything came right.
