Separate safe mode login?

    I'm trying to remove a suspected spyware program, by starting up in safe mode. To my surprise the safe mode login screen doesn't accept my normal username / password. I do not remember ever changing this.

    How can I find out what the safe mode login is, or reset the safe mode login?

    You should be able to login to safe mode with any username and password as long as the user has admin rights.
