I didn't see this answer in search so thought I would post it here.

The past 2 days my task bar won't stay unlocked! I've tried properties by locking and unlocking it. I've run Norton. I prefer to have it hidden and can't seem to get it to unlock. No new programs downloaded or installed. Updates installed the other day. Could there be a problem from that? Am I missing a tip somewhere or is my menopausal brain fried?

    HELP!

    Thanks.

    :)

what version of xp? pro or home?

is u'r account and admin level account?

if u check event log do u see any errors akin to 'profile cannot be saved ... ' as i'm thinking that u'r user profile may not get saved proper at logoff given u'r account IS admin level (it's not a permission issue more or less) and u'r actions to unlock etc work until u logoff and logon again. eg - does the process work at the time u do it and undo itself after a logoff/restart?

XP Home. Personal Account. I've tried rebooting. Doesn't help. I always shut my PC off @ nite, but still have the locked bar in the morning.
