Do not re enable the log on service, it was added to XP by a trojan.

Happy that things are back to normal and glad to be of help.

Hi Jake,

Forgot to tell you to clean out XP's System Restore files which if you had to restore with would re infect your system.

Right click on My Computer > Properties > System Restore tab > tick "Turn off System Restore on all drives" > apply > reboot > go back to the restore tab and untick.

-I have 3 hard drives, 2 for a raid 0 array which windows is one, and the other for all my data. That is why I was not concerned about a recovery option with wiping the array clean.
