After installing a windows update, a message asks if you want to restart now or later.

Once I choose restart later, the message that you need to restart keeps coming back in a very annoying manner until I do the restart. Is there any way to disable this message?

I know that I can avoid it if I choose Win Update at end of the day, but I usually forget at that time. I would like to choose when I restart my pc without being constantly told that I have not done it yet.

    Thanks

No - not AFAIK. Until the computer is rebooted the patch is not active. I guess the message is particularly relevant to those folk who, as a general rule, never turn their computers off.

    Mr. SAD experience writing here.

Your ideas about restarting may not be a good one.

As PeteC also mentioned, many upgrades, patches, installs etc. do/may not work properly until the system is rebooted so that they get placed into the registry properly.

Also by not restarting at the proper time may well have and effect on whether things can be uninstalled or not.

I have found the after making ANY TYPE of change it is better to restart Windows ( any version ) right at the time and not wait till later.

A few minutles wait for a restart good possibley save hours.
