Problems With 2 Devices That Have No Drivers

OK, so I recentally formatted and installed windows, and I've got 2 Devices giving me troubles because I can't find the drivers for them at all.

Ethernet Controller
SM Bus Controller

I've tried using the windows update site, searching the windows XP CD & my Motherboard's CD, and I can't find what has these things' drivers at all....

Funny thing is on my last install, I had no problems...

Any help is much appreciated.

 

If you know what model/brand etc your hardware is then just browse the net for some drivers

 

Unless they are "add in" cards or USB devices, the drivers should be on the CD that came with the computer.

You may need to "update" the drivers by searching that disk or run the disk and install the drivers using it's driver installation program.

The computer is self built, so there wasn't any sort of 'drivers disc'

I've tried to update and set it to scan the Windows XP Disc, the MoBo Disc, and the USB Adapater's disk (even though it's already installed) and none of them say they're finding the right driver..

Windows update doesn't find anything either.

 

Are you using an Intel chipset motherboard? You should be able to download the Chipset Utility driver from Intel's website.

go to the maker's site and get them mostly.
