    securityuptodate is replacing my homepage when I start up IE as it is for many others on this board. I was getting the taskbar messages and what not as well as random IE pop-ups, but since then I've installed Microsoft SP2, and Microsoft Defender, and IE 7; I'm a super fortress! Not really... Although everything is gone now, securityuptodate still burdens me!

    I do consider myself to be a computer savy teenager but I'm not as genious, and I can't quite follow the steps outlined for other people, so I've gotten as far into the process as providing you with my SmitfraudFix log:

    The instructions provided in this thread (link here) have seem to have rid me of the securityuptodate.com problem. It's no longer redirected as my homepage, and the other parts of this infection, as I've stated, were removed by Windows Defender. These are the instructions I followed:

    and then I proceeded to clear the registry:

    Although my problems are gone I'll post the results incase you can find anything wrong.
