Have a new Dell with Win XP. Hard Drive was supposedly crashing, they sent me a new one. I installed old one as Slave and new one as Master. Tried to copy/move a Folder with the same name from #2 to #1. The system won't let me. Any suggestions. I am trying to get Outlook Express to recognize the Folders I created on the old drive, but I keep getting layers of sub folders/directories and Outlook Express will not find these folders. Quite confusing and Dell is no help. Anyone know of any books that might address this issue?

Folder moves from 2 to 1Dr.

Try renaming the folder you want to move and put a 2 after the name of the folder. The easy way is to open both drives and have side x side. Add the 2 and drag over. Hope this helps.

What robyoung said will certainly work and if it does the trick for you, the rest of this post is fine to ignore.

If you are real attached to the original folder names, you can (mostly) get the same effect if you rename the folders on your new drive first and then copy the old ones.

I said "mostly" because with any system folders, it won't let you change folder names.

If you are trying to get programs to work again, simply copying the folders across won't do it. You will have to install the programs on the new drive.

For things like your issues with Outlook Express, you will probably need to open OE and IMPORT the contents of the old folders.
