No e-mail in Internet Exlporer

I don't have and can't install Outlook Express in Internet Explorer. When I try to send an e-mail out of IE I get a box wanting me to create a profile using Microsoft Exchange. I think that is for Microsoft Outlook. I also have a problem with any of MS Office programs. If I try to send a page out of Word or Excel, windows starts loading pages (I've had it get up to 60+ before getting it to stop) and then I have to shut down IE and the Office program. I think this all started when I bought standard Office. I'm sure there is a way to get OE to work in all programs, but haven't found it yet.

In IE click tools>internet options>programs and where it says email, select Outlook Express. Click apply, then OK.

 

No e-mail in EI or Office

That was the first thing I tried. It showed Outlook Express for the News, but the E-Mail is blank and you can't write in it.
