Here’s a doosie,…..When I bring up a program (not all) including "System Information" and "System Restoreâ€, The window will start to come up, Then the whole box disappears, Just short of reveling what’s in it, And another tid bit is Internet Explorer works, Until I go on certain pages it will disappear (seems arbitrary) also, Everything else works (as far as I can tell) Including Netscape, and Other programs, I have even went as far as re-installing WindowsXP Pro. and downloaded all the updates………..Virus?

In case it helps to know what I am using "¦.WindowsXP Pro, DFI nb72-sc mother board, P-4 1.6MHz, Nvidia Riva TNT2 model 64, 40gig hard drive, And the standard CD\DVD drives.

    THANK YOU!!!

Strange it is. You may get someone with a solid answer. Until then:

A couple of WAGs here - memory or bad fan and heat build up.

Heat - run with the cover off for a day or so and see if it helps.

Memory - remove part and see what happens. Try until you have run without each of your memory boards.

In case you need em - removal instructions Here and a bunch of other places.

I picked this one because it has very clear directions for dealing with NT and in this case, XP = NT. The instructions for the 9x/ME systems won't work well for you.

And BTW - this critter isn't very new (unless you have a recent variant I'm not familiar with the virus is a late 1999 version) so you are probably in need of some serious updating on your AV protection.
