    Hi guys,

we have two domains (both 2000), we want to retire one and the other one is new. there is one server that we want from the old domain as it holds our home areas and profiles and is also a DC and a GC. is there a way to make it a member of the new domain without having to Dcpromo it? if we dcpromo it will this cause any issues?
    please help.

    Thanks

    Gilbert

You would definately need to demote it then make it a DC in the new domain, don't see any major issues but none of your home drives or profiles will be contactable by the other domain unless you change some settings.
