Windows IE Window opens up smaller than it should [Open IE maximised]

I am having a problem when I open up Internet Explorer that it opens as a small window. I have had this problem, before and it went away when i reformatted at some point.

Nothing I do will let it open up to screen size as it did previously.

I am using IE 7.0.5

When I had this problem before I was using IE 6.

Any suggestions?

Hold your left mouse button down and drag the window to the desired size. If you X out while holding the control key down, Windows should remember how you want the next IE window to display.
