WinXp Home, SP2, Firefox version 1.5.0.2

Have a link to a video (from an e-mail) but when i click the link, i get the
message "firefox doesnt know how to open this address, because the
protocol (wmfiltered) isnt associated with any program.

Right-clicking on the link and selecting properties only shows as:
Address wmfiltered (which is no help at all).

Never heard of wmfiltered before. Is this a new file type?
What do i need to do to get the video to play?

    thanks,
    savagcl

From a Google view, it appears <wmfiltered> is part of the markup language for the website page view(s). My guess your email URL to the video is not a valid shortcut.
Hopefully someone with web page design skills will provide a better explanation.

    Clif,

Would you post the link and we can take a look at the page? Thanks!

I did the same Google search, and, I tend to agree with Dennis. Some other pages indicate that they were scanned with AV. I have no idea what all that means. But only a link tried by someone else may break the impasse.

While i cant verify it yet, One forum had a msg about wmfiltered error msg.
It is apparently linked to the file assocaition of HTM and HTML. Their
suggested fix was to verify that these 2 associations (Advanced) button
had the Action box contain "open" and the Application box had "%1" at the
end And the checkbox "DDE" was checked or unchecked not sure??

Will test when i get the e-mail back, if ever..

    thanks,
    savagcl
