I have been trying to remove IE 7 beta 2 so I can install the upgrade that has just came out.

I go to add/remove programs and check the "show updates" box. There is no listing for IE 7 showing.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Jeff

In Add/Remove Programs tick the box 'Show Updates' and IE7 is listed near the bottom as a Windows update.

Thanks but I have already tried that. No luck. Not shown. Any other things to try?

All I can add is that mine shows in the Windows updates section at the bottom of the window (in chronological sequence) as :-

Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview

If "Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2" does not exist, run %windir% \ $NtUninstallie7bet2p$ \ spuninst \ spuninst.exe. You need to have view hidden folders enabled.

    Arie,

I ran the command and it opened C:\\ Windows. What do I do from there? I did not see any entry for IE7.

I have all files and folders viewable.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

Just how dangerous is it to try and remove IE 7 beta preview? I've gone so far and it brings up a warning telling me that all programs installed (including hotfixes) after installing it "could" be broken and no longer function properly. Naturally I'm not willing to risk this so it would appear I'm forever stuck with the preview version of IE 7.

What are others with this preview version intending to do?

    James,

That's the same 'warning' message you get whenever you remove (uninstall) any Microsoft update. It shows a list of programs that you have installed since IE 7 beta2 and states... if these programs rely on IE 7 beta2 then they might not work properly if you remove IE 7 beta2. When you do this it 'rolls back' your computer to IE 6. This needs to be done before you install the latest release of IE 7 beta2 (which just came out Tuesday 4/25). HTH

I have installed and uninstalled IE 7 several times without any problems. As Mr B notes - the message is a standard MS warning.

You'll need to remove the spaces:

    Code:
    %windir%\$NtUninstallie7bet2p$\spuninst\spuninst.exe
Sorry, seems I missed this post earlier.
