All Office programs freeze on "Open" dialog box location select

Hi there,

On one of our XP Professional workstations (Windows 2000 domain) we are having issues with the "Open" and "Save As" dialog box in all Microsoft Office programs.

We can get the box up, but once we try and select a location to save in/open using the "Look in" selection box, the whole program freezes and crashes.

This only affects domain users; no one with administrative access to the PC is affected. I have re-installed Office etc and done a repair to no avail. Any suggestions?
The only difference between this computer to any other PC on the domain is the fact that a printer is attached to it via USB - I cannot think of anything which distinguishes the PC from any other.

OK - Solved this problem. It was an "allergic reaction" between Windows Update and the HP Share-To-Web Explorer extension - Will talk to Hewlett-Packard.

 

quackbal--MS has issued a fix to the Update 908531 . I do not think it is necessary to talk to HP.
