accessing live links from Outlook Express email?

I used to be able to do this in the past, but dont remember when it stopped being available? People send me emails with website addresses to check out, and the only way to access them is to "copy and paste" them into a new window, and access them that way. I used to be able to just click on the link, and away I would go. I am using Trend Micro PcCillian as my virus software, but have disabled it, thinking that might be a problem, but it didnt help. Any ideas?
