    Hi all,

I have just installed a second hard drive.

It seems to be all ok, and i can move file onto the drive, but when i open contol panel>admin tools>computer management> disk management i get this:

    Disk (0)
    Basic
    74.53 GB 74.53GB NTFS
    Online Healthy (Active)

    Disk (1)
    Unknown
    74.53 GB 74.53GB NTFS
    Not initialized Healthy (Active)

it seems to think the disk is not initialized? how can this be? is there something wrong and should it be worth worrying about?

Have i set the disk up correctly? i used the lifegaurd tool from this website to do all the formatting and stuff.

However i just ran the WD diagnostic and it came up with SMART status fail? and it seems to think i have an F;? drive which i don't?

My primary is labeled C: and the new HD is labeled K:

also when i do a test using the diagnotic tool it comes up with
    RAW READ ERROR RATE - id=1 value=200(in red) threshold=1 worst=1 warrenty=1

There is a RED cross next to it also, everything else has a green tick.

    whats going on?? someone HELP!

tried all that whiskeyman, it won't initialize because the disk seems to have already been initialized, i have installed 2 games on it and moved two folders across over to it, and everything works perfectly!

it's just the RAW read error rate that is bothering me! i've emailed western digital about it and i will wait for a response.

maybe i should just let it be, seen as everything is working ok?!

I would let it be until you hear from WD. Just don't put anything on it that can't be backed up.
