Networking with a wired PC to a wireless network Laptop

    Hi i have 2 Pc'c connected to cable through a router both of them are networked and can see each other share files and printer and so on but i have purched a new laptop with wireless network i have tried everything searched everywhere but no one seems to have the answer im after, i can connect to my Home network fine i only have trouble sharing files and printer as such and i at a loss of what to do. was actually considering going and seeing my IT tutor to see if he has any ideas if no one here can help me i have completed cert 3 in IT and i still cant work the dam thing out so any help would be greatly appreciated....thanx Donna

    Have you tried:

    For the printer try going to C'trl Panel>Printers&Faxes>rightclick>Click on Properties>Sharing and check share this printer.

    Check the registry on all computers(regedit) and make sure that the force guest key is set to "0 ". It's exact location is KHLM\SYSTEM\CURRENT CONTROL SET\CONTROL\LSA. Also make sure all the computers are on the same workgroup just to make things easier. (right-click on my computer and go to computer name)

    Before hacking into the registry, try working through this helper on Simple File sharing. Also have a look at the Microsoft guide:

    Try and get things working without a Registry Edit. Hacking into the registry is something to do if you can't find another fix, or you know what you are doing with the register. If you still find you need to hack, the correct key is in HKLM (HKEY_Local_Machine) rather than KHLM. Make sure you back up the registry before you start.

    i have tried everything everyone has said and redone a network setup on all pcs and laptop and nothing is still happening..
