I'm using the regular built-in zip utility that Windows XP has (i have sp2) and recently when I try to drag and drop files from inside the zip folder onto my desktop, they don't end up appearing on my desktop... nothing happens.

I'm not looking for a workaround (I have Winrar and that works) I'm looking for a fix... any ideas?

To try the easiest thing first, go to Start>Run, type "regsvr32 zipfldr.dll" (without the quotes) and click OK. Hopefully, it will tell you it was successful. Then try dragging and dropping again.

I forgot to mention, that i de activated the dll, adn also reactivated it and it didnt work.... i didnt reboot inbetween though... would that help?

I can click the "extract files" and that does work, but not the actual drag and drop method
