This week I was updating Windows and while on their update site I tried to click on details for each update. All I got was a little yellow looking page ( I think ) with a huge red x on it. I could not get the details.

I know there are a ton of red X issues and each has their own explanation. I didn't go to the Microsoft site because I was hoping someone here could save me the hassle. It's always a hassle for me on their site.

Of course I had to use IE to get to the update site.

    Thanks.

    charlesvar,

Thanks for the info. It very well could be the update. ( KB911565)

It would appear that Microsoft causes more problems than I certainly need!!

So the red x could be related to an update?

Guess I'd better find a way to contact MS.

    Hi vegaspat,

You could uninstall it, see if that helps, and wait for MS to solve the problems. They already have said they will re issue the KB908531 patch on the 25th, next Tuesday.

    Regards - Charles

When you click on that "more details" link on the update page, it opens another, smaller window. Perhaps you have a popup blocker program running that prevented the contents of that page from being displayed.

Usually holding down either one of the Shift or one of the Ctrl keys will bypass a popup stopper so the page will display. Which key depends on which popup blocker program you're running.

    Miz,

I had already thought about that and disabled my pop up blocker. It didn't help.

Any more suggestions will be appreciated. I still haven't had time to search the MS site.

    Thanks.
