    Hi All
I am useing msn exployer with "my msn" as my home page through Qwest DSL.
When I log onto the internet my msn home page loads, but if I click on a link...news story, windowsbbs, Google or any link and then hit the back button to go back to my msn home page I get this....
"The requested page is temporarily unavailable. "

The only way to get my msn home page to load again is to log off the internet and then log back in.
Qwest's solution to this is to uninstall msn exployer and reinstall, they said that msn exployer was corrupted.
I believe in doing this I will loose all the links I have in my favorites and other things that go along with my msn.

Anyone have a better solution or idea on this? Really don't want to uninstall if I can help it.
    Thanks
    Geri

    Hi All
Well it seems that it was a problem with either Qwest or msn.
As of this morning everything was working normally?

Wish I new why these companies always jump extreme ..uninstall...reformat ?

    Hi Geri,

Because its the simplest action (to them) to suggest and get you out of their hair. Anything else would entail actually taking time  and time is money.

You can reinstall IE without loosing your favorites, as the favorites and the progam are located in different directories.

To reload IE, you need to unhide all of your files and folders. Then go to the directory, C:\WINDOWS\inf\ and look for the file named, ie.inf

This is an installable file, so left click on it, then right click and select "install" from the menu.

That will do it. It is quick and easy. Remember to rehide your files and folders when you have finished... and don't forget to run automatic update for the recent security patches.
    :)

    Hello DarthOdor and welcome :)

Thanks for posting the tip on IE.

IE and MSN Explorer are two different browsers - MSN, while using IE as a shell, has its own favorites and settings.

    Regards - Charles
